Roger is General Counsel and Director of Business Affairs and leads UKTV's legal and business affairs teams together with providing business affairs support for the BBC Studios' UK region. Part of the wider BBC Studios Business and Legal Affairs family, the team provide legal advice on a wide range of issues and are responsible for contracting and rights' acquisitions for commissioning, distribution, commercial partnerships, carriage and advertising deals and on demand.

Roger is a qualified lawyer and joined UKTV from BBC Studios where he led the business affairs' teams for UK and international production. Prior to that Roger ran the Entertainment team for Studios as it moved from the Public Service to become a commercial entity. He has also been Controller of Rights, Legal and Business Affairs for the BBC Public Service across all of its content and production activities and has also worked at ITV and Channel 4 and in various other roles at the BBC dealing with production, commissioning and on screen talent deals.
