Really heads down under for haunting series

Haunting: Australia

UKTV's popular entertainment channel Really, has announced a pre-investment deal with Flame Distribution for a new and exclusive series, Haunting: Australia.

The 8x60', which is scheduled for April 2014, will bring together an unprecedented collection of the world's best paranormal investigators who put their unique skills to the test against the most thrilling and frightening haunted locations in Australia.

The series, made by Flame Productions, features six presenters, renowned for their work in the paranormal field including Ian Lawman (Most Haunted), Robb Demarest and Ray Jorden who search for evidence of the afterlife by using a variety of unusual techniques and equipment, resulting in some of the scariest footage ever to be shown on television.

Haunting: Australia was ordered by Really's General Manager Clare Laycock and the deal was overseen by UKTV's Head of Acquisitions and Co-Productions, Alexandra Finlay and Content Sales and Acquisitions Director, Flame Distribution, Fiona Gilroy.

Laycock, said

?The unpredictable and exhilarating nature of programmes about the paranormal makes them truly compelling. Haunting: Australia is a bold and cutting-edge new series and I'm thrilled to be bringing it to our viewers who come to Really for their fix of out-of-this-world television.?

Finlay commented

?Series such as Paranormal Witness and Ghost Adventures have been very popular on the channel, so this exciting UK premiere is the perfect addition to Really's portfolio of paranormal programming.?

Gilroy added

?Flame is delighted that Really has come on board with this project - the channel offers the perfect UK home for the series which brings together leading paranormal investigators from around the world.?

Really has enjoyed a successful 2013, with +3% in share and +2% in volume year-to-date. Haunting: Australia is slated to air on the channel early next year.
