Really takes top Twitter trending spot this Halloween

Really

A NOTE FROM CLARE LAYCOCK, GENERAL MANAGER OF UKTV'S REALLY CHANNEL

Really's Halloween live stream last night had the whole country talking!

The Really team, along with presenter Yvette Fielding, took up residence in the haunted Old Rectory in Cheam last night. Between 8pm-midnight Yvette & crew presented live-streaming from 4 of the most haunted rooms in the house. Viewers tweeted a whopping 4,700 tweets using #ghostsonreally, keeping the hashtag trending all evening, hitting the top spot 3 times!

There was knocking and creaking, there were sightings of ghostly little girls standing in doorways, faces in mirrors and chandeliers swaying ? and a wonky lamp which developed its own trending hashtag and became the surprise hit of the night.

The Really website smashed through the 100,000 page views barrier with the live stream getting over 35,000 of those. Half the visitors were first-time visitors to the Really site, which features our new fully-integrated PC VOD service.

HUGE THANKS go to everyone involved - the fantastical Lucy Fox who project managed the whole event and surrounding press activity so successfully. Also to our amazing Digital Producer, Lucy Iles, for overseeing all things twitteratti. They were supported by a brilliant team including Helen Sallnow, Sari Blom, Steve Whyte and Callum Swigler.

And last but by no means least... THANK YOU to everyone out there who tweeted and watched the stream live! It was an absolutely brilliant event.
