UKTV again recognised as a best company to work for

Best Companies

UKTV has been awarded the Best Companies One Star for the second year running, in recognition of high staff engagement and positive working culture.

The broadcaster, which employs over 200 staff, has retained its accreditation as the UK's only television broadcaster to be awarded the accolade.

UKTV is recognised for its appealing working environment and workplace practices including the reinforcement of a clear set of values and behaviours, a focus on health and wellbeing, a grassroots CSR programme that supports the company's local community and democratically elected charities, and a dedicated 'Innovation Pot' budget to fund creative and entrepreneurial ideas from any corner of the business.

Speaking in UKTV's new book '2024: The Future of Broadcasting', launched February 2014, CEO Darren Childs said

'Television's future is no greater than its ability to continue to attract bright young talent to lead its evolution.

That means creating the right culture. Young people today have no time for bureaucratic environments and they're impatient to get somewhere fast. So top of the list for broadcasters is the need to put in place excellent managers and leaders willing to take responsibility for developing people's careers and making TV's future an exciting one.

Other honoured businesses in the One Star category this year include American Express UK, EE and the National Trust.
