Luke Hales is the General Manager of UKTV channels Really, Good Food, Home and Eden. He is responsible for the commercial and editorial performances of each channel, and for implementing their long-term growth strategies.
Luke first joined UKTV back in 2005 as a research executive and went on to lead the insights arm of the hugely successful 2008 rebrand of UKTV G2 to Dave. In 2010 Luke moved to New York, where he spent several years in the Viacom head office, before returning to UKTV to lead the strategic insights and research team in 2015.
In 2016 Luke became the general manager for Really, Good Food, Home and Eden. In this post, he has led the evolution of real life channel Really with a new brand position and target audience and a complete creative overhaul of the channel's aesthetic, to coincide with the channel's move into commissioning its own UKTV Original content for the first time. The first two commissions, Helicopter ER and Cops UK: Bodycam squad have been hugely successful for the channel, with an expanded slate of originals planned for the next three years.
Luke has also overseen the very successful launch of Home into Freeview and enjoyed strong performance for Good Food.
