Simon is responsible for leading UKTV's Strategy, Research & Insight, and Regulatory teams.
Reporting to Darren Childs, CEO, he works closely with other members of the UKTV Executive Leadership Team and with the company's key stakeholders, BBC Worldwide and Scripps Networks Interactive Inc.
With one eye on the regulatory backdrop, the primary focus is to provide advice and strategic direction across all areas of the business. By interpreting viewer and market information the team ensures that UKTV channels and non-linear services maintain a competitive edge and continue to build market share.
Simon joined UKTV in August 2007 from Discovery Networks Europe, where, as VP Research and part of the senior management team, he was responsible for guiding strategic development of the core business across the UK and EMEA territories.
Before joining Discovery in 2006, Simon was VP Research and Planning at MTV Networks Europe, where he was responsible for tactical and strategic development of the business. Prior to his move into research, Simon, an Oxford graduate, built strong commercial foundations through an early career in advertising.
