Simon is Chief Marketing & Innovation Officer (CMIO). Reporting to UKTV CEO, Marcus Arthur, Michaelides leads the Marketing, Consumer Communications, Social & Online, Media, Creative and Innovation teams, as well as a key area of transformative activity known as Content and Product Funding.
Prior to taking on this role in November 2019, Simon served as Chief Transformation Officer for UKTV and BBC Studios UK and was responsible for leading the post-acquisition integration and development of the combined UKTV and BBC Studios business.
Simon joined UKTV in 2012 as Marketing Director, before being named Chief Commercial Officer, overseeing the company's third party platform relationships and all commercial activity; including programme financing and distribution, sponsorship and advertising, UKTV's video on demand (VOD) business, and UKTV Ventures - a multi-million pound innovation fund which is used to invest in high-growth potential businesses that are seeking external investment.
Simon's career before UKTV and BBC Studios encompasses a combination of management consultancy and commercial marketing roles at Kantar Consulting, Procter & Gamble and PepsiCo; working across major household brands including Coca-Cola, Bacardi-Martini, Walkers Crisps, Tropicana, and Fairy Liquid. He is a Fellow of the Marketing Society, and an Alumnus of the Marketing Academy Fellowship.
