Simon is Chief Commercial Officer at UKTV. He is responsible for the company's platform relationships and all commercial activity. This includes programme sales, strategic investments, new business development/innovation, and UKTV's Video on Demand (VOD) business.
Simon also leads UKTV's Programme Funding and Ventures teams. The Programme Funding team was created to forge partnerships with international broadcasters, distributors, programme makers and advertisers to co-produce, fund and distribute new shows. The UKTV Ventures team manages a multi-million pound innovation fund which is used to invest in high-growth potential businesses that are seeking external investment; helping many organisations scale-up and break into the TV advertising market for the first time.
Prior to taking on this role in 2016, Simon spent four years as UKTV's Marketing Director, responsible for the development and growth of UKTV's brands.
Simon joined UKTV in 2012 from Kantar Retail, the consultancy arm of WPP, where as Director of Consulting - Integrated Strategy and Marketing, he worked internationally with blue-chip organisations such as Coke, Kraft, Starbucks, and Bacardi-Martini. Before joining Kantar in May 2010, Simon's career comprised over a decade at Procter & Gamble and PepsiCo, working on major household brands such as Flash, Fairy Liquid, Walkers, and Tropicana.
