UKTV has today announced an acquisition deal with Endemol Worldwide Distribution, which will bring the UK premiere of unscripted reality show Boston?s Finest to its flagship entertainment channel Watch.
The gripping new series (8x60), executive produced by Hollywood talent Donnie Wahlberg (Blue Bloods and Band of Brothers), takes viewers on a dramatic journey into the lives of Boston's police officers both on and off the job. Boston's Finest offers an up-close and very personal look at what it takes to protect and serve one of America's most distinctive cities.
Coming to screens mid-August, the programme follows the fearless actions of the entire Boston Police Department, including patrol officers, detectives, special task forces and members of the SWAT team, the Fugitive Unit and highly decorated Gang Unit.
watch's General Manager Steve Hornsey, said: ?Watch aspires to deliver out of the ordinary, gripping entertainment. I'm confident that this series, which offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at the often dramatic lives of Boston?s police officers, is exactly the type of content our viewers are hungry for and I'm delighted Watch fans will get to see it here first in the UK.?
The deal was brokered by UKTV Acquisitions Executive, Emma Sparks and Endemol Worldwide Distribution?s Sales Director UK & Eire, Gisela Asimus-Minnbergh.
Sparks commented: ?We're thrilled to be extending our on-going relationship with Endemol with this fantastic acquisition.
