Although part of the UKTV family of channels, U&GOLD programmes are not available to stream on U.

Becoming Victoria Wood

Becoming Victoria Wood is a feature-length documentary film offering a revealing portrait of one of Britain’s most beloved entertainers, Victoria Wood. Drawing on her letters, interviews and personal writings, the film explores both her creative process and her private life.

The documentary features specially filmed dramatic readings performed by Jessica Barden, bringing Victoria Wood’s own words vividly to life. Originally screened in selected UK cinemas, Becoming Victoria Wood receives its UK television premiere on U&GOLD on Thursday 12 February at 9pm, and is available on demand via Sky, Virgin Media and NOW from the same date.

The film was warmly received by critics, with the Daily Mirror and Daily Express awarding it four stars and describing it as “tearfully nostalgic”, while Heat magazine gave it five stars and called it “well worth watching”.

Becoming Victoria Wood is a definitive contemporary portrait of a comedian whose work continues to shape British comedy.

Bangers & Cash is a UK, award-winning factual entertainment series that follows family-run classic car dealers The Mathewsons as they auction vintage vehicles. The series has built a broad audience through its mix of classic car expertise and family dynamics.

In this new episode there’s a look at Derek’s personal motorcycle collection and some barn finds. Derek Mathewson parts with some of his own old motorcycles, while Paul and Charlie Mathewson go to Northampton to extract a couple of iconic British cars - a Daimler Sovereign, and a Sunbeam Alpine and that have been languishing in a garage since 1973. And Dave Mathewson falls for the charms of a barn find Vauxhall Viva GT.

Ghosts of Alderney is a one-off moving documentary which reveals new evidence of atrocities committed by Nazis on British soil during World War Two. The film examines the hidden history of Alderney in the Channel Islands and the role it played in World War Two.

This episode:
Piers Secunda reveals slave workers were shipped from across Europe to Alderney to build a fortress for Hitler. Piers goes beyond the numbers to bring the names and faces of those who suffered back to life.

A new episode of Guy Martin: Proper Jobs is available to stream for free on U, and airs on U&Dave on Sunday, 8th February, 8pm.

Guy Martin: Proper Jobs is a factual entertainment series that shows Guy Martin living and working alongside people who do what Guy calls “proper jobs” day in, day out to see if he could do them too. It is known for Guy’s trademark no nonsense approach and shines a lot on some of the lesser appreciated jobs in the UK and the people who do them.

In the third episode of series two, Guy travels to a remote Scottish island in the Hebrides to live and work on a dairy farm during calving season.

A new episode of Blue Lights is available to stream on U, and airs on U&DRAMA, Thursday 12th February, 9pm.

Blue Lights is a critically acclaimed and BAFTA-winning police drama series that follows new recruits to the Police Service of Northern Ireland. It is known for its gritty, realistic, and character-driven portrayal of rookie officers in modern-day Belfast, Northern Ireland. It has previously been on BBC1 but is now on U&Drama for the first time.

In the first episode, Belfast police probationer Grace Ellis (played by Siân Brooke) has her resolve tested when she tries to help a fellow single mother whose son has fallen in with a notorious gang.

NCIS: New Orleans – Series 1, Episodes 17 and 18

Genre: Drama

A double bill of new episode of NCIS: New Orleans are available to stream on U, and airs on U&W, Wednesday 11th February, 8pm and 9pm.

NCIS: New Orleans is a spin-off to the iconic long-running US primetime series, NCISNCIS follows special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service that deal with high-visibility crimes that are directly or indirectly tied to the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. New Orleans, home of jazz music, gumbo and bayous, makes an atmospheric location for the military drama, adding a lively and distinctive flavour to the procedural storylines. NCIS: New Orleans stars Scott Bakula.

This week’s episodes:

In Series 1 Episode 17 at 8pm, Agent Pride (played by Scott Bakula) becomes convinced an elusive criminal has returned.

In Series 1 Episode 18 at 9pm, a sailor is shot in the champagne room of a strip club.
