Eden, Britain's leading natural history channel and part of UKTV, the multi-award winning media company that reaches over 42 million viewers a month, today announced a pre-sale deal for Ten Deadliest Snakes with independent production company Image Impact.

In this action-packed 3 x 60' series, wildlife presenter Nigel Marven travels to America, South Africa and Costa Rica, to count down his list of each nation's ten deadliest snakes. Nigel, known for his spontaneous and daring style of presentation, explores tropical jungles, cacti-strewn deserts, mountain forests and murky swamps for his close encounters with cobras, bushmasters, rattlesnakes, and mambas.

The deal was negotiated by UKTV's Acquisitions and Co-productions Manager Emma Sparks and ordered by Eden's General Manager Adrian Wills. The UK premiere is due on Eden this June.

Adrian Wills said

Nigel Marven is completely fearless and has no problem dodging snapping jaws and vicious fangs so that Eden viewers can learn more about the world's deadliest snakes. This series will showcase the remarkable behaviours and powerful strikes of these unique and phenomenal creatures.

Nigel Marven commented

I've always been fascinated by venomous snakes - often misunderstood, graceful yet deadly, they're perfectly adapted for their role as predators. Visiting reptile-rich countries in search of my top ten has been an awesome adventure and though I had venom sprayed in my face, I've not been bitten yet!

Eden celebrates the wonder of nature, and features the very best wildlife, science and adventure programming. The channel shows the best of the BBC's Natural History Unit with Sir David Attenborough, and science programming with Professor Brian Cox, as well as UK premiere acquisitions that explore the world around us and some spectacular adventure and travel programmes. Eden aims to show the world in all its beauty and wonder.
