Storage Hunters UK wins over 1 million viewers

Weds 29 Oct 2014

UKTV's award winning entertainment channel Dave launched Storage Hunters UK last night to a massive 1.14m viewers (overnight, average individuals).

The channel's brand new commission followed the success of its US counterpart to deliver Dave's best ratings since Red Dwarf in November 2012, delivering a 5.2% share and beating the highly successful Dave transmissions of the US original - with a top rating to date of 941k.

Storage Hunters UK launched last night with a double episode at 8pm and 8:30pm, the first episode was up 225% above the 52-week overnight slot average and episode two continued with a strong 1m individuals. The #StorageHuntersUK also topped the trending topics on Twitter, and noisy bidder, Heavy D also trended during the second episode.

Meanwhile on YouTube an audio-visual remix of the show has gone viral gaining 75,000 views in just 24 hours. To celebrate the new series, Dave teamed up with British music producer Alex Ross to create 'Storage Hunters (The Auction Remix)' - a mash up of vocal snippets from the US and UK editions of the show with a pulsating funk-disco track. Sean Kelly leads the verses seemingly swapping the gavel and a storage lot for the microphone in a recording booth.

Storage Hunters UK continues on Tuesday's at 8pm and 8:30pm on Dave.

About Dave HD

(Sky 111/232, Virgin 128, HD: 129, Freeview 12) www.joindave.co.uk / @join_dave

Dave proudly presents a plethora of original commissions; Crackanory, Ross Noble Freewheeling, Dave Gorman's Modern Life is Goodish, and Dara O Briain: School of Hard Sums, all laden with the biggest names in British comedy. Not to mention a brand spanking new series with QI favourite Alan Davies in Alan Davies As Yet Untitled.

If that wasn't enough to whet your appetite we also have a stack of national treasures like QI, Red Dwarf X, Mock the Week and Have I Got News For You, not to mention the Red Bull trilogy of Cliff Diving, X-Fighters and the Soap Box races. And of course, we still have Top Gear.

Obviously we have to add, Dave is the UK's most watched non-PSB channel broadcasting to over 27 million people per month, featuring hit US shows including the sharp-witted and sharp-suited Suits, the ludicrously addictive Lizard Lick Towing and the wonder that is Storage Hunters, the gift that keeps on giving.
