UKTV staff given a day off thanks to viewing uplift

12 December 2014

All of UKTV's staff received a note from CEO Darren Childs this week giving them an extra day's holiday in recognition of predicted end-of-year viewing rises across 2015.

The broadcaster looks set to celebrate a record-breaking 12 months, with official forecasts suggesting UKTV will smash its share of commercial impacts (SOCI) target for 2014.

Childs attributed the company's success entirely to the hard work and commitment of staff saying:

Yet again you have applied characteristic passion to significantly grow UKTV's share of commercial viewing across our channels. This is a fantastic achievement and deserves real recognition.

UKTVers can take their extra day at any time over the festive period. We're setting our out of offices...
