COMPETITION NOTICE – PRIZE DRAW

NAME OF COMPETITION:

Bring Your Dog to Work Day – U&Dave and U&W Prize Draw (the “Competition”).

METHOD AND COST OF ENTRY:

Entry is free of charge via direct messaging the U&Dave Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/uanddave or the U&W Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/wtvchannel.

To enter the Competition via Facebook, the entrant must direct message a photo of their dog to either the U&Dave or the U&W Facebook account (each an “Entry”).

SPECIFIC RESTRICTIONS:

All entrants must be over 18 years of age at the date of Entry and a legal resident in the UK.

All entrants must have the internet service or mobile device bill payer’s permission prior to submitting an Entry.

Only one Entry per person will be accepted across both the U&Dave and U&W Facebook accounts. If entrants submit more than one Entry, only the first entry will be accepted.

Employees of UKTV, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter the Competition.

Any Entry that is unclear, incomplete, defaced, corrupt, illegal or misdirected will not be accepted. UKTV accepts no responsibility for lost entries, and proof of transmission entry will not be accepted as proof of receipt.

UKTV accepts no liability for any invalid, incomplete entries or entries not received by UKTV. No ‘bots’ or similar automated third-party software will be allowed and anyone found using such software will be disqualified. Any alternative entrants will be selected according to these terms and conditions.

By submitting the Entry to UKTV the entrant is declaring that it is their own original work, they are the creator of it (or have the creator’s permission to submit it, with a copy of any such written permission to be supplied on request) and that the original work does not infringe the rights of any other party. Stock, AI-generated, heavily filtered or clearly staged commercial entries will be disqualified.

Entries must not contain:

  1. anything that could be viewed as indecent, inappropriate, defamatory, unlawful, offensive, spam, nonsensical or represent a danger to health and safety.
  2. any branding, swearing, obscenity, or any person.
  3. other animals e.g. cats, rabbits etc.
  4. a dog in distress, unsafe environments (e.g. extreme weather, confined spaces) or wearing inappropriate costumes.

Entries must be of a high enough quality to be broadcast on television – an Entry must be in focus and have the capability of being upsized for television. All Entries must comply with the Ofcom Broadcasting Code.

Any Entry that is found, at any time, to breach these terms and conditions or that otherwise contains prohibited, inappropriate or unlawful content as determined by UKTV, in its sole discretion, will be disqualified. UKTV shall have the right to remove an Entry from any and all online platforms at our discretion.

The entrant agrees to fully indemnify UKTV against any actual or threatened claims or actions UKTV may be subject to in relation to your Entry.

COMPETITION PERIOD:

The Competition will be open between 9:00am on 2 June 2025 to 23:00pm on 8 June 2025 (the “Competition Period”).

Any Entry received outside of the Competition Period (for whatever reason) will be invalid but you may still be charged for the Entry where costs apply.

PRIZE:

There will be three prize winners (each a “Winner”).

Subject to these terms and conditions, each Winner’s Entry will be broadcast on U&W and/or U&Dave television channels on 20 June 2025 as part of UKTV’s Bring Your Dog to Work Day promotion (the “Prize”).

WINNER SELECTION:

After the close of the Competition Period, the Winners will be selected at random by a closed computer-generated system from all eligible Entries received during the Competition Period.

The Winners will be awarded at our discretion and no Prize will be awarded as a result of improper actions by or on behalf of an entrant. No alternative prize will be given and the Prize is non-transferable & non-exchangeable. However, UKTV reserves the right to change the Prize due to circumstances beyond its control or to offer an alternative of similar value.

It is the Winner’s responsibility and to assess whether the Prize is suitable and to read any instructions or manuals associated with the Prize. The Winner agrees to absolve UKTV from any liability that may result from or is claimed to have resulted from participating in the Competition and/or from the acceptance or use of the Prize. Nothing in these terms and conditions in any way limits UKTV’s (or any other person or organisation’s) liability for fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

The Winner will be notified via a direct message reply to their Entry by either the U&Dave or U&W Facebook account, on or before 11 June 2025, confirming that they have won the Prize (the “Prize Message”).

The Winner should respond to the Prize Message via direct message to the relevant Facebook account (either U&Dave or U&W) within 24 hours of receipt. Failure to respond to the Prize Message within the timeline stipulated may result in the Prize being forfeited and an alternate Winner being selected. UKTV won’t be liable if any Prize fails to reach a Winner or a Winner cannot receive it for reasons beyond our control.

Winners will be notified 24 hours prior to broadcast, so they are able to see their winning Entry on television.

PUBLICITY AND DATA PROTECTION:

Entry to the Competition gives UKTV the right, without separate consent or compensation, to publicise the Winner’s name, location, and the name of the Winner’s dog and to make further use of these in printed publications and on the internet, solely for administering this Competition in accordance with applicable law.

Entry to the Competition gives UKTV the right, without separate consent or compensation, to use the winning Entry on all UKTV platforms. This includes use of the winning Entry on the UKTV channels, UKTV websites, UKTV’s social media accounts and the U App.

TheWinner will be required to provide their contact details (including their location, name, and the name of their dog) to UKTV. The Winner’s personal details will only be used by UKTV for the purpose of administration of this Competition. Further information about how your personal details will be handled can be found in Schedule 1 (Privacy Notice), and UKTV’s .

PROMOTER AND PRIZE PROVIDER:

This Competition is offered to you by UKTV Media Limited ("UKTV”). Our registered office is at 10 Hammersmith Grove, London W6 7AP and our company registration number is 04266373.

The Prize Provider is UKTV.

By entering this Competition you are submitting your details to UKTV and not to Meta Platforms, Inc. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by Meta Platforms, Inc.

GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION:

These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

SCHEDULE 1 – PRIVACY NOTICE

To enter this Competition, you provided UKTV with your Facebook profile name. The Winner will be asked to provide their name, location, and the name of their dog. UKTV is the “data controller” of this information.

UKTV will process your personal data to administer the Competition. UKTV process personal data based on its legitimate interests to engage with audiences and to promote its brands. UKTV protects your information in many ways. These include staff training, investing in technology and following strict handling and storing procedures.

If you are the Winner, your personal details will be deleted once the Prize has been fulfilled.

Data protection law gives you certain rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to request from the controller access to and rectification or erasure of your personal data or restriction of processing, and the right to object to processing.
