Multi-award winning media company, UKTV, has unveiled plans to implement a brand new broadcast management system at its Hammersmith HQ.

The MediaGeniX WHATS'On solution will provide UKTV with greater flexibility to schedule and manage content across its 10 linear channel brands, as well as support the broadcaster's rapidly growing VoD business which saw views to its on demand service, UKTV Play, increase 26% year on year in 2015.

MediaGeniX's agile scheduling software will enable UKTV to further enhance its linear channel offering, accelerate the expansion of multi-platform services and explore new business opportunities at pace.

Tim Goff, Head of Technology & Infrastructure at UKTV, said,

MediaGeniX are an important strategic partner for UKTV and a fantastic cultural fit. We are delighted to be adopting their 'WHATS'On' system as it gives us powerful tools to craft complex, heavily layered linear channels but is also a product with VoD firmly at its heart. We have already seen unprecedented growth across our linear and digital brands and believe MediaGeniX are well placed to support and accelerate our strategic ambitions.

Emmanuel Müller, VP Business Development at MediaGeniX, added,

Our partnership with UKTV reinforces our position as a leading Broadcast Management System supplier in what is probably the most advanced broadcasting market in the world.

UKTV has enjoyed five years of unprecedented growth, bucking the market trend by growing its share of viewing by over 30% since 2010. Its new broadcast management and scheduling system, which will be operational later this year, marks the next exciting stage in the media company's ambitious growth strategy.
