Dave hits the road for Ross Noble: All Torque

Friday 5 May 2017

Award winning entertainment channel Dave is teaming up with comedian Ross Noble for Ross Noble: All Torque (3x60'), a new series about the oldest and most difficult motorsport in the world.

Ross Noble: All Torque sees bike lover Noble return to Dave following his acclaimed series Ross Noble Freewheeling. This time a camera crew follows Noble as he takes part in the Scottish Six Days Trial, a legendary challenge where the best motorbike riders in the world come together to race a hundred miles each day in a true test of stamina, ability and willpower. It's a race that's defeated countless seasoned professionals who've been riding all their life, and certainly isn't for the faint-hearted - or foolhardy comedians. Training during every second of spare time and helped along the way by his coach James Burroughs, can Noble conquer one of the toughest sporting challenges known to man? Ross Noble: All Torque is produced by Oscar and Emmy-winning Grain Media (The White Helmets, Virunga) and directed by Jon Drever.

Ross Noble said,

This is one of the most technically difficult motorcycle challenges in the world - you have to ride for eight hours a day for six days on a bike with no seat. But as I do stand-up as a job I'm hoping that will help!

Iain Coyle, UKTV senior commissioning editor, said,

We're absolutely delighted to work with Ross again. He's a fantastic bloke, a unique talent and, it turns out, pretty hardcore on two wheels.

Steve North, Dave general manager, said,

Ross is a talent we all love here at Dave, and it's hugely exciting to be working with the award-winning team at Grain Media. The combination of comedy, motorsport and endurance will be a gripping and entertaining take on such an awesome challenge.

Alex Moore, CEO at Grain Media, said,

This project marks our first collaboration with UKTV and the brilliant Ross Noble, so we're thrilled to be at the helm. There's no denying that capturing an event of this scale at over a hundred miles a day, across the most difficult terrain imaginable, and all alongside the best and worst weather the Highlands of Scotland can throw at us, makes it a fair old production challenge. And that's not to mention Ross's frankly unhinged training plan. So all in, it's going to be quite the ride, but one we wouldn't miss for the world.

Produced by Grain Media, Ross Noble: All Torque is ordered by director of commissioning Richard Watsham and Dave general manager Steve North, and executive produced for Dave by Iain Coyle. Executive producer for Grain Media is Simon Bisset, series director is Jon Drever and the series producer is Andy Gradwell. Ross Noble: All Torque joins other exciting 2017 UKTV Originals for Dave such as Red Dwarf XII, BAFTA-nominated Taskmaster returning for series four and five, Zapped series two, Dave Gorman Modern Life Is Goodish series five and brand new Porters. This year Dave is also showing live tennis and live MMA for the first time with new sporting commissions Tie Break Tens and Live MMA World Title Fight, as well as all-new Ronnie's Redneck Road Trip and The Joy Of Techs with Marcus Brigstocke and Alexis Conran.

Ross Noble: All Torque will air new and exclusive to Dave later this year.
