Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled back for a fifth series on Dave

Alan Davies As Yet Untitled

9 January 2017

UKTV's award winning entertainment channel Dave welcomes Alan Davies back for a fifth series of critically-acclaimed series Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled (8x60'). The relaxed chat show format will see stars including Melanie C, Sanjeev Baskhar, Dave Johns, Gemma Cairney and David Baddiel take a seat at the table as Alan leads a captivating conversation full of stories from the world of comedy and entertainment.

Alan Davies said,

In this post-truth era, only Dave would dare run a show in which the guests talk openly about events that actually happened. Many famous comedy faces will appear as well as several talented people I've never heard of. Normally, being 50 now, I can't stand meeting new people but thanks to Dave, I'm overcoming that fear.

Across its five series the show has mixed high profile stars with up and coming talent, offering a much-needed platform for new comedians. Guests including Stephen Fry, Catherine Tate and Jonathan Ross, plus Katherine Ryan, Lou Sanders, James Acaster and Romesh Ranganathan, have shared funny stories about everything from brushes with royalty to dating woes, bizarre encounters and insights into life on the comedy road.

Nominated for a Broadcast Award in 2016, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled is produced by Phil McIntyre Entertainment. It is ordered by Dave general manager, Steve North and director of commissioning, Richard Watsham and commissioned by senior commissioning editor Iain Coyle. Lucy Ansbro will exec produce for Phil McIntyre, alongside Iain Coyle for UKTV. Lindsay Jex is series producer.

Iain Coyle said,

I love this show, it's consistently brilliant. The combination of seeing a new side to the biggest names in comedy and the show's continuing commitment to fresh talent, is a credit to the producers.

Steve North added,

I am delighted to have a brand new series of As Yet Untitled on Dave, I see it as a vital opportunity to help introduce some of the freshest names in comedy to a broader television audience. Alan continues to be a brilliantly warm host and unearth some incredibly stories out of an amazing array of guests.

Lucy Ansbro said,

We are thrilled to be working with the channel and UKTV again on such a brilliant series. Alan is great at coaxing the best stories out of the guests every episode. We can't wait to fill those seats.

The news comes as Dave continues to enjoy success with its UKTV Original slate, bringing back Taskmaster, Dave Gorman Modern Life is Goodish and Dara O Briain's Go 8 Bit in 2017. Previous series of Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled are available to watch at UKTVPlay and the brand new series will air on Dave in February 2017.

Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled is recording 13th and 16th January at The Hospital Club, Covent Garden at 3pm and 7pm. Please let Gem know if you would like to attend.

About Dave

Sky 111/246, Virgin 128/194, Freeview 12, BT & TalkTalk 12 On demand on Sky, Virgin and UKTV Play

Dave's had a haircut and shave in recent years as it grows from awkward teenager to fully-fledged commissioner of new and original shows. And it's not just comedy these days but entertainment and even some knock-out live sport.  Hit UKTV Original commissions include Taskmaster, Dave Gorman Modern Life is Goodish, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, Dara O Briain's Go 8 Bit and Crackanory, all laden with the biggest names in British comedy. Dave enjoyed critical success with two series of Hoff the Record, a mockumentary ensemble comedy led by the living legend David Hasselhoff.

As well as home-grown delights Dave also goes stateside, cherry-picking cult US Shows including the sharp-witted and sharp-suited Suits and much-loved Parks and Recreation along with Emmy-nominated The Last Man on Earth. This all contributed to Dave's award win at the 2016 Broadcast Digital Awards for Best Entertainment Channel.

Dave is the UK's most watched non-PSB channel broadcasting to over 27 million people per month, and viewers continue to enjoy the ludicrously addictive American Pickers and UK remake of Storage Hunters.   The channel continues to grow its original commissioning slate with political show Unspun With Matt Forde, Red Dwarf XI, fantasy comedy Zapped! and Celebrity Storage Hunters.
