Workerbee, part of Endemol Shine UK group, has been commissioned to make a brand-new competitive car build show for UKTV's Dave and National Geographic International.

Due for broadcast later this year, Scrapyard Supercar is an 8x60' show, featuring Boyzone star and professional drift driver Shane Lynch and Supercar Megabuild's engineer Ralph Hosier.

Each episode sees two teams of amateur mechanics face an engineering task of epic proportions. They have to build a working car to a set deadline - from scrap metal and old parts they can find from the scrapyard. Their finished motors then go head to head on the racetrack in a series of challenges to see which performs best...against a supercar.

Scrapyard Supercar is executive produced by Rick Murray for Workerbee and Daniel Thomas on behalf of UKTV. For National Geographic, Carolyn Payne is commissioning editor and Helen Hawken is executive producer.
